Our Ethos

Vani Ethos

Vanipedia fosters a culture of appreciation and recognition for the people who are volunteering their talents to build this online repository of Śrīla Prabhupāda's teachings. This multi-lingual project to construct Śrīla Prabhupāda's Vani-temple would not exist without the selfless efforts of our full-time and part-time volunteers. After 12 years of operating, Vanipedia still does not have any members of our staff who are salaried. The 290,000+ hours of devotional service so far performed, by over 1,250+ volunteers, to bring Vanipedia to its present state has been offered from a platform of sincere devotion in the mission of sharing to the world the wisdom found within Śrīla Prabhupāda's teachings.

Śrīla Prabhupāda expresses his faith that his books are qualified to be distributed unlimitedly by devotees who work with heart and soul.

"The results show that there is no limit to our book distribution. Our books are qualified to be distributed unlimitedly. We are not fiction writers. It is a fact that no expert booksalesmen can compete with our men. The Librarian has noted the difference between our men and other publisher's men. We are working for heart and soul, not for money."

We encourage dedication and commitment from our volunteers with the clear understanding that by performing vaniseva to Śrīla Prabhupāda's teachings, in a collaborative environment, we offer to Śrīla Prabhupāda gifts that he has always shown a deep appreciation to receive.

In order to successfully push forward the saṅkīrtana movement, Śrīla Prabhupāda requests his devotees to both cooperate with each other and to also transcendentally compete with each other. Vaniseva for Vanipedia aspires to emulate this request. We invite more devotees to join with us to experience the joy of serving in this noble effort.
